Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 47 ℉, condition: Cloudy.

Wind has died down from yesterday and the cold front has settled in the area.  Chillier than the past few days, both air and water temperatures.  Mid day water temps were 45 to 49.  No need to rush out to the stream early.
We are going to get clouds this weekend though!
Few hatches going on until the afternoon when the water is the warmest.  Midges are still the major hatch and have fish rising on most creeks, with the most concentration of feeding fish directly below riffles.  We have started to see a handful of olives around the area, but nothing that could be considered a hatch yet.
Bottom bouncing some heavier nymphs and scuds is working during the sunny mid day, and streamers and leeches fished on the contours of the pools will catch fish too.
