Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 63 ℉, condition: Windy.
Clouds are here! We are supposed to see light showers after 4 p.m. and that weather always means a good chance of seeing blue winged olives.Otherwise, caddis are still here and hatching well both blacks and tan. With pupae and soft hackles doing very well below the riffles. Most of the caddis feeding fish are nosed right up in the broken water.
Sub surface patterns are lighter colored nymphs with a thicker body that represent caddis or cranefly larvae, as well as olive nymphs.
With the cloud cover leeches and streamers will fish well too.
