Driftless Area

The larger streams are still running cloudy, while the tributaries and smaller waters are stained to clear. Fishing on these smaller waters have been fantastic! On some, we have seeen hatches of olives and small cahills, as well as cream midges and micro caddis. Fish are also eating scuds and smaller (18-20) thin bodied nymphs.Nighttime temperatures have been in the mid to high 50's which means water temperatures are way down. That fact coupled with the water churning through the spring means much better than average summer water temperature.
Leeches and streamers continue to be good as fish are aggressive after high water.
The streams have all flushed out and bankside vegetation pushed down. A great time to wade along the shore!
