Wisconsin's catch and release season opens on March 5th, this Saturday! The shop is officially open today.
Warmer today with temperatures hitting the low 40's. It will melt quite a bit of snow, then re-freeze again tonight. This creates a slow melt which does not muddy up the waters at all. Even on the chillier days the sun has beeen intense enough to melt some snow.
There is still about a foot of packed snow on the banks which we will keep monitoring as the opener gets closer.
There are winter stoneflies and midges on the water around noon and fish are rising sporadically. Water temps are hovering just below 40 at the peak of the warm days.
