Driftless Area

Rating: 2, temperature: 18 ℉, condition: Flurries.

Wisconsin's season opens up on the 5th.
Colder day today after a good melting day yesterday.  Fish were rising like crazy around lunch time yesterday, and when the weather warms up again will continue to feed on the midge hatches each afternoon.
Water is cold (peaking at 40 degrees daily), clear and high.  Even on some of the larger waters the water is in excellent winter condition.
Still about a foot of snow on the banks, but we will still have a couple of slow melts before season and knock that down.
We are due for some snow and sleet tomorrow and will keep you posted on what it does to the streams.
