Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 65 ℉, condition: Partly Cloudy.
Fishing has been good, but we are still waiting for something big to happen to make it really take off.Black caddis have started to be spotted in small numbers, but nothing to really get fish excited yet. There are olives around, and we have even started to see some craneflies. The bright, sunny sky has prevented excellent surface feeding.
Subsurface fishing has been solid on frenchies, pheasant tails and scuds, while fish are chasing leeches and streamers in the shaded pools and undercut banks.
Water temperatures are in the mid 40s to mid 50s and waters are clear to slightly stained area wide.
