Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 66 ℉, condition: Cloudy.
Gorgeous weather early this week to enjoy the bug soup in the Driftless!Caddis are starting to slow down, craneflies are still strong, and we are transitioning into sulphurs and yellow sallies on the surface.
Subsurface fishing has been excellent on scuds, cranefly larvae, soft hackles, and frenchies.
Waters are a bit low and running clear with temps in the low to mid 50s.
On sunny days, fish early and late and find shade for better fishing. Also, do not forget to move your flies. Fish are really responding to actively fished flies, both surface and subsurface.
